M-Powerment Luncheon Salutes Community Supporters |

Orlando, FL (5/30/08) - The African American Chamber of Commerce of Central Florida has recognized two Central Florida businesses and a successful entrepreneur for demonstrating outstanding community support and service. They were showcased during the Chamber’s Spring M-Powerment Luncheon which was held Thursday, May 22, at the Citrus Club in Orlando, FL.
State Farm Insurance and Brighthouse Network were honored for notable efforts of support to the Central Florida business community and the Chamber. The event was keynoted by Nathaniel Goldston, III, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Gourmet Services, Inc. Mr. Goldston also received an award for providing outstanding service and leadership in the foodservice industry. State Farm Insurance is a long-standing trustee member and Brighthouse Network serves as a corporate partner of the African American Chamber of Commerce of Central Florida. “The corporate sensitivity of these organizations has helped better shape our business environment while enhancing the quality of life for our members and our community,” noted Dr. Robert M. Spooney, Executive Director. During the M-Powerment Luncheon words of appreciation were also given to the Orlando Magic, the Chamber’s newest trustee.
