The African American Chamber of Commerce of Central Florida Supports Count Me In for Women’s Economic Independence

Orlando, FL (10/23/08) – The African American Chamber of Commerce of Central Florida continues its mission to build long-term growth and prosperity for business leaders through support of organizations like  Count Me In for Women’s Economic Independence, a nonprofit program providing start up loans for women entrepreneurs across the country.  Count Me In for Women’s Economic Independence with founding partner American Express® OPEN, serves as a provider of resources, business education and community support for women entrepreneurs seeking to grow small businesses to million dollar enterprises.

The African American Chamber of Commerce of Central Florida is encouraging women entrepreneurs with an annual revenue of $250,000 to participate in the Make Mine a Million $ Business Campaign launched by  Count Me In for Women’s Economic Independence founder, Nell Merlino, also founder of the Take Our Daughters to Work Day Program. The objective of this campaign is to help inspire 1 million women entrepreneurs to reach $1 million in revenues by 2010.  Through the organization’s support, women business owners gain assistance in growing their businesses while receiving a combination of money, mentoring, marketing and technology tools.

A special Make Mine a Million $ Business event will be held Thursday, December 11, 2008, at the Westin Diplomat Resort & Spa, in Hollywood FloridaAfrican American women entrepreneurs are invited to attend this event and encouraged to register by Friday, November 7, 2008. Participants will include women entrepreneurs, television personality Nely Galan, and others.

The African American Chamber of Commerce of Central Florida is proud to be partner with Count Me In for Women’s Economic Independence and encour ages African American women entrepreneurs to participate in the program.
