U.S. Senator Bill Nelson Speaks About Economic Stimulus Package

Orlando, FL (9/22/09) – U.S. Senator Bill Nelson provided his views on the outlook of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 (Economic Stimulus Package) for Central Florida minority businesses at the recently held M-Powerment Luncheon, hosted by the African American Chamber of Commerce of Central Florida. The event was held at the Downtown Citrus Club on Monday, August 24, and drew an audience of nearly 300 guests from around the state.

Senator Nelson outlined the benefits of the legislation on entrepreneurship for communities of color and discussed why he felt compelled to vote in favor of the final passage that was signed into law February 17, 2009. 
 
During the M-Powerment Luncheon, special acknowledgement was given to Florida Hospital in appreciation for their outstanding community service. Florida Hospital is also a long-standing Chamber trustee of the African American Chamber of Commerce of Central Florida. Senator Nelson was also recognized with an award for his outstanding leadership.
